Arrive & prepare to unplug
Welcome to beautiful Peru! Arrive in Lima anytime on Day 1. We'll be there upon arrival to transport you to the hostel so you can check in with the group. We'll all gather in the evening for a kick-off event and welcome meal so you can get settled, meet the other travelers, and unplug.
an introduction to lima
On our first full day in Lima we'll dive into the heart of the city. Explore the nearby neighborhoods in the morning and then join the group for civiche and pisco sour tasting in the afternoon. In the evening we'll venture out for Andean music and dancing.
welcome to cusco
The morning is yours to catch up on some journaling and enjoy the fresh local coffee. You'll have another half-day to explore Lima before we catch a short flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, we'll gather for games and drinks as a group while we enjoy our temporary stay in a new city.
explore cusco with a walking tour
Wake up to the mountain air and breathe in the energy of the magical city of Cusco! We'll spend Day 4 learning more about the local history and art on a guided walking tour in the afternoon. Then we'll spend the evening resting up for the next four days of hiking along the Inca Trail.
Days 5 - 7
hike the inca trail
Today we begin the trek to the world famous Machu Picchu! Our small group will be led via local guide with trains, buses, and hiking through the Sacred Valley. We'll take it slow to acclimate to the altitude and pass through many small towns along our route, staying in a few overnight as we get closer to our final destination.
rise early to see machu picchu
On Day 8 we will get up early to see Machu Picchu at sunrise and explore the 15th-century Inca citadel throughout the morning. This will be a long day, as we'll also travel via train back to Cusco. It'll be a full day of adventure, ending in dinner back at our hostel for some well-deserved rest.
one more day to explore
Sleep in and take some time to reflect on the incredible journey you've had over the past few days. Today is your last full day in Cusco, which you can spend exploring, wandering, or relaxing as you wish. In the evening we'll check out the Cusco Planetarium together before gathering for some proper farewell drinks and storytelling.
say your goodbyes & exchange info
You survived! Pat yourself on the back for thriving while off the grid and say goodbye (for now) to your travel companions. In the morning, you can exchange info with the group. You'll have the opportunity to swap photos and plan another adventure with your new friends.
